Shawn Killian and Steve Strunk from Planet Hockey have instructed our under 17 National Team during our hockey school at our national training center in Fuessen, Germany the past several years.  All of our German National players and coaches are very receptive to and interested in the innovative concepts and training methods that Shawn and Steve provide us.  All our players work hard, have fun and respond very well to the Planet Hockey training approach.  Shawn and his instructors were excellent at demonstrating skating skills and correcting our players' weaknesses. Not only did our players benefit from Planet Hockey’s knowledge, but our National Team coaches did as well. Greg Poss, our German National coach, Uwe Krupp a 17 year NHL veteran and various German born NHL players have participated in the Planet Hockey training and we have all benefited greatly.  We plan to have Planet Hockey back for many years to come.  In fact, the German Ice Hockey Federation now has Planet Hockey return to Germany several times each year to train our youth players, professional players and coaches.

Shawn Killian trains Cole Jarret, a NY Islanders draft pick

The Berlin Eisbarens of the DEL (German Elite League) and the Eisbaren youth and minor professional teams hosted Shawn Killian.  Coach Killian conducted power skating sessions with various teams and worked individually with members of the Eisbarens top teams.

"It was a thrill to work with such skilled players that are just a step away from the NHL.  I hope I was able to help them identify some critical areas to develop", said Killian of his recent trip.

Killian worked with several youth teams and coaches, saw a DEL game between Eisbarn Berlin and Mannheim, toured the former East Berlin Olympic training center and was fortunate enough to enjoy a lunch with Eisbaren Berlin head coach and coaching legend, Pierre Page.

"It was a great trip and I look forward to returning to continue where I left off", adds Killian.
