Since 1995, Planet Hockey has taken more than 2,000 aspiring hockey players and their family members to Europe to experience International Hockey and to be exposed to rich cultural experiences.
We have so much to learn from the European styles and methods and it truly is an honor to get an 'inside' look into what makes many Europeans such strong hockey players. Planet Hockey provides this opportunity that submerges us into European Hockey and allows us to 'become' European for the week.
Our vision, respect for European hockey training methods and our strong relationships and partnerships with various European hockey coaches and clubs provides our players with a unique European hockey experience which includes:
Tournament - a 5-6 game International Tournament with referees, scorekeepers, medals to all participants, and a team trophy to the champions.
Planet Hockey International Training Camp - train on and off the ice with various European teams and coaches and be exposed, first hand, to European hockey training secrets. Parents are welcome to join us for the classroom sessions.
Skills Competition - represent your country and compete for fastest skater, hardest shot, top goaltender, breakaway team winner and more.
Friendly Games - in addition to all other ice sessions, we begin the week with 'Friendly Games', which is often the highlight of the trip. We will mix jerseys with European teams and will provide you with the opportunity to play for European coaches and with European players...and wear a European jersey.
Team Practices - we will practice as a team prior to our first game.
Accommodations - stay in quaint European hotels and inns. Swedish Tours - players stay with host families.
Meals - all meals provided, excluding lunch.
Tours - included are tours to castles and other historical venues.
Parent/Family Activities - our tours are not just for players! Every member of your family will enjoy activities organized specifically for them. You will enjoy activities and events with our European host families and with other participating European hockey families. Family members of all ages are in for an amazing experience!

How are players selected?
Invited - by Shawn Killian or Steve Strunk (Planet Hockey Directors).
Recruited - during a Planet Hockey Camp or by a TEAM Planet Hockey Area Representative or European Recruiter.
Cleared - players we have not met and/or who have not trained with Planet Hockey are still welcome to join us provided they are 'cleared' through an interviewing process with Planet Hockey. We will assess your skill and character via phone and through letters of recommendation from your current coach. |
Do I have to attend a Planet Hockey Camp to be evaluated and selected?
No, many players join us each year who we have never met. |
When are the Tours?
Typically in the Summer. Periodically we offer Christmas/Holiday Tours and Spring Tours. We organize Custom Tours any time of the year. |
Can I bring my team?
Yes, you may, you can even organize your own All-star team. Space permitting. |
