IMPORTANT TRAVEL NOTES to Gothenburg, Sweden

• Which Airport do we use?  Gothenburg Landvetter Airport (GOT).
• When should I arrive at the Gothenburg Airport?  The tour officially begins at 12pm (noon) on July 12th at the Gothenburg Airport.  Busses and housing families will arrive at the airport at 11am and will depart at 12pm noon.  Book flights into Gothenburg that land in time to gather your baggage, clear customs and get to our (to be determined) meeting area by noon.  Planet Hockey Staff will meet you at the Gothenburg Airport beginning at 10:00am.  You will be notified in future Tour Emails as to our meeting spot in the Gothenburg Airport.  We will be a very large group, so it will be impossible to miss us.  
• Should I book my flights now?  All confirmed players/families may book air travel now.
• Early Arrivals into Gothenburg - Arriving a day early is a GOOD idea!  You will be much more rested if you arrive into Gothenburg at least one day early.  We are working on a few 'early arrival' hotel recommendations.  Feel free to book your own hotel of choice for early arrivals. 
• Any tips to SAVE $ on our airline tickets?  (1) Use search engines such as Expedia, Travelocity and Orbitz.  Once you have found a price you like, consider booking it directly through the air carrier in case any changes become necessary.  Dealing directly with the airlines is much easier than having to work through Expedia if a change is necessary.  (2) Look into booking a roundtrip into a major city/hub in Europe such as Frankfurt, Amsterdam or London.  Then look at a round trip between that city and Gothenburg.  Sometimes this may save a few bucks.  
• Late Arrival into the Gothenburg Airport?  If you need arrive after the group (or have travel problems) and can not make the noon bus departure on 7/12, we will provide you with a 'Plan B' to catch up with the group.  
• Travel Dates - Arrive at the Gothenburg Airport BY 11:00am on Saturday, July 12.  You may Depart anytime on Saturday, July 19, but a late morning departure (10:00am or later) is best.  If you are leaving on an international flight, you will need to check in for your flight 2 hours prior to departure.  Round trip airport transfers are included in your tour fee.  We will get you back to the Gothenburg Airport on July 19.
• Continuing on to our Fussen, Germany Planet Hockey Cup & Camp July 20-28?  If you are one of the lucky dogs continuing on with us to Fussen, Germany, you need to arrive at the Munich Airport by 11:00am on July 21.
• Passports - are required of all participants.  Other travel restrictions may be in place for non-US citizens.

IMPORTANT - Once your flights are booked, each tour participant must email their flight itinerary to Shawn Killian.  Only one itinerary per family (if it names each passenger).
