Where

We are hosted by Bålsta Hockey Club in Bålsta, Sweden (30 minutes north of Stockholm).  Stockholm, Sweden is the largest city in Sweden with nearly 2 million inhabitants.  Stockholm is known for its beauty, its buildings and architecture, its abundant open water and many parks.  It is sometimes referred to as Venice of the North.  Stockholm is the second most visited city in the Nordic countries.

 August 8-16, 2010
  - Depart USA/Canada 8/8, AR Stockholm (ARN - Arlanda) Airport 8/9 by 11am.
  - Depart Stockholm (ARN - Arlanda) Airport 8/16 (late morning or later is best).

*Note - many tour families will travel in Europe on their own before and/or after the tour.  Make sure to book your travel plans accordingly.

Tour Information 
Planet Hockey and JPS Showcase are currently recruiting skilled players and hockey families to represent Team JPS Selects at the Midget and the Jr./College/Pro levels of the Planet Hockey International Cup & Camp in Bålsta, Sweden August 8-16, 2010.  All teams will be comprised of skilled players recruited by Brad Buetow or a Planet Hockey Representative.  Roster spots are limited and will be filled on a first committed, first served basis.

Tour Objectives
To expose skilled players to European Hockey through Competition (Games) and Skills training (Camp) both on the ice and off the ice.  Also, to provide quality European competition, training, cultural exchanges, touring and a memorable international experience for both players and family members.

Player Requirements

Players who fulfill the following player requirements will be eligible to participate:

  • Recruited and/or invited by Brad Buetow or a Planet Hockey Representative.
  • Birthyears according to Division requirements (Peewee, Midget, Jr/College/Pro).
  • Each team is allowed three 'overage' players (by one birthyear)
  • Currently play at the travel/competitive level.
  • Strong individual and team skills, including character, leadership, sportsmanship and maturity.
  • (1) Letter of recommendation (unless waived by Brad Buetow or a Planet Hockey Representative).  Not needed for returning players.
  • At least one parent must accompany each player.  This is a first rate family hockey tour.  There will be a $495 non-accompanied fee for players not accompanied by a parent.
  • Must be 'recruited' (invited) or 'cleared' by Brad Buetow or a Planet Hockey Representative.

Player Information

  • Players Package - Players receive a TEAM Planet Hockey Custom Jersey (name & number on back), Socks and team hat. 
  • Team Size - Maximum 20 players per team.  Maximum total team size - 52.
  • Tour Cost (USD) - Players: $2,395.  Family members (Adults): $2,295.  Family members under 8: $1,095.  Tour cost does not include air, lunch, drinks at dinner. 
  • All Tour components subject to change.  Tour schedule to be provided prior to departure.

Team JPS Selects
Deposits/Payments/Time-line (all in $USD)

  • Deposit #1 – Non-refundable $500 deposit per person due upon registration.  Spots are not reserved until deposit is received.
  • Payment #2 - $500 per person due February 1, 2010.
  • Payment #3 - $500 per person due March 31, 2010.
  • Payment #4 - Final Payment due June 1st.  All tour members must be paid in full.
  • Refunds/Cancellations:  up to 50% of payments #2-4 may be refunded.  Cancellation date dictates refund amount.  No refunds after May 1, 2010.

Tour Notes

  • Air Travel – airline tickets, reservations and planning is the responsibility of each family.  You may choose to arrive early, or leave late to see other parts of Europe (many families do).  Click here for travel parameters.
  • Airport - must use the Stockholm (ARN -Arlanda) Airport.  Planet Hockey airport transfers will not be provided for any other airports.
  • Hotel lodging based on double or triple occupancy (2 or 3 per room).  Single room upgrade charge $895USD.
  • Tour details and a check list of suggested ‘things’ to bring will be sent to you prior to the tour.
