Shawn Killian and Steve Strunk from Planet Hockey have instructed our under 17 National Team the past 4 years during our hockey school at our national training center in Fuessen, Germany. All of our German National players and coaches continue to be very receptive to the new concepts that Planet Hockey presents. All of our players work very hard and enjoy developing their Planet Hockey skating techniques. Shawn and his instructors were very good at demonstrating skating skills and correcting our players during their ice sessions. Not only did our players benefit from Planet Hockey's knowledge, but our National Team coaches did as well. Greg Poss, our German National coach and Uwe Krupp a 17 year NHL veteran participate each year in the drills and continue to be very impressed with Planet Hockey's training techniques.  We look forward to having Planet Hockey run the Power Skating training for our National Training Camp for many years to come.

In October, 2007, Steve Strunk instructed our hockey club (EC Bad Tolz, Germany) for three incredible days.  Steve taught 18, 75 minute sessions with 4 different groups.

Our players are continuously exposed to professional power skating and the puck handling skills training.  Steve, however, was able to captivate the players (and coaches) and add a great deal to the base knowledge of our players and coaches.  Many of the Planet Hockey methods were a positive confirmation of our current training direction, yet other concepts were totally new and very helpful and informative.  His ability to teach a new skill and then apply it in a drill and in a game situation was very positive.

Our players, coaches and our parents were very pleased with the Planet Hockey Program that Steve conducted here in Bad Tolz.  We look forward to his return in December and again in February.  Great work Planet Hockey, we appreciate you sharing your passion for providing hockey players with innovative skills that make a difference.

Your staff was awesome.  Your entire instructional staff was fantastic, they were enjoyable to talk to and very knowledgeable. 

As a parent and a coach I learned a great deal myself that I can bring back to my players.  The coaches all took time to show the kids the proper technique and skills in skating, passing, and shooting.  My son felt very comfortable with them and knew he could ask questions and talk to them about anything he was working on.  He didn't feel intimidated.  They made the camp fun while working hard at learning new skills.  They took their time to help the kids and show them everything.  As a parent you like to see that.  My son Joe enjoyed it so much.  He was always talking about it and showing my wife and his brother everything he learned that day.  We never saw him so pumped about learning and practicing hockey skills.  He wants to attend again and he really wants to go to the Planet Hockey Ranch in Colorado next year. Just a note. Taylor and Alex attended the SLC camp last year and enjoyed it very much.

Alex really had a break through year with skills and confidence on the ice. He was one of the top three players on his house team. He also tried out and made the select squirt team and helped that team dominate their tournaments all season. I do believe the Planet Hockey Camp began his season of accomplishment.

Taylor also had a great season. He was a stand out player at every house game, scoring almost 90% of the teams total goals this year. Taylor also plays strong for the select pee wee team and always brought strong skating skills to every game.

I wanted to tell you about Josh. He is the youngest Pee Wee in the program and jumped up this year with the new age classifications.

Last year, as a first year squirt, he was about 10th on the depth chart. To prepare him for Pee Wee hockey (with checking) and knowing he was going to have more difficulty making the A team this year than last, we started with your Planet Hockey Camp in April, attended the week long Planet Hockey Camp over the summer and he worked hard on his Dryland training. This year he finished 3rd on the depth chart! He tied with one other player for the highest observation score!

I was very proud of him. I know Planet Hockey provided the fundamental improvements he needed to advance his level of play.

Thank you for coming to Glenwood Springs, CO; the trip from Grand Junction was well worth it. The skills and techniques we went over were (and will remain) very useful. One of the things I really like about the Planet Hockey clinic is the passion the coaches bring to the ice. At one point you had asked me what my name was and from that point on you addressed me by my first name. You did that with all of the students' names you learned. My name is Adam. I was the oldest person at Planet Hockey in Dallas at age 17.
I just started playing hockey last year. I had a Senior League game the day before camp started.
I also had a game 2 days after it ended. I could tell a major difference in how I played 2 days after camp ended.
My ice time went up. I made tape-to-tape passes, and for the first time ever I finished
with a plus rating during a game. I didn't score any goals or get any assists,
but I played the best I have ever played. I want to thank Coach Tobbe Bjork and his staff
for being some of the most dedicated young men to both the sport of hockey and to helping young
players reach their full potential in the great game of hockey.

The Planet Hockey Ranch was one of the best life experiences my 12 year old son has had. The Planet Hockey staff can relate to kids as no other hockey camp can. Tucked away in the mountains of Colorado seems hardly the place for a ice hockey camp, but it was great! The mountain biking and hiking/climbing got the kids in shape without them knowing. The on ice drills were great as usual. But my son's highlight was the white water rafting trip that his father and I, along with several other family members, joined in on.

Planet Hockey Ranch is a place to go to be with other players, learn skills, and have fun. I'd say it scored a 10 in all areas.

I think that The Planet Hockey Ranch is a great experience for all kinds of people. But by far white-water rafting is the best. I loved how we used flashlights and lanterns in the cabins at night and during our evening hikes. I also think that all the counselors and instructors are great and it is nice that they are from different countries. The on-ice training is really great too. The bungee-cords are fun and I love how you get to see how fast you skate. Like my mom said it definitely scored a ten in all places. On the first day, all our parents got to meet and become friends. All the kids there are nice and make great friends

Planet Hockey is a step above the rest. The teaching methods used by Shawn (Killian) and his Staff do more than just teach hockey skills. Planet Hockey motivates athletes to become their best by continuing their efforts long after the camp is over. Dear Planet Hockey:

Hi! This is Daniel Anthone and I was in camp the at Family Sports Center in Denver, Colorado. I loved the camp and I will definitely be back next year. After the camp I feel like a stronger skater and an all around better player. When I played today everybody complimented me and my friend Mathew Speer, who was also in the camp. I am going to tell all my hockey friends about Planet Hockey and advise them to try it next year. All of the coaches in the camp treated us all very well. My favorite part of the camp was the dryland training. The drills are all perfect to be a successful hockey player and I will continue doing them on my own. I think the idea to video tape the players is brilliant. When you just tell a student what they are doing wrong and how to fix it, it is a lot harder then when you can see what you are doing wrong. Shawn was the best coach I have ever had even though I was only with him for five days. Thank you Shawn, Brian, Steve, Ryan, Johan, Kyle, and everybody else. I wish I could have made it to the Planet Hockey Ranch but I had a ton of fun anyways! Thanks! Hope to see you all again next year. Maybe I'll see some of you on the Europe trip. Bye!

Dear Planet Hockey:

This is more or less an evaluation of the Huntsville, AL Camp and the Staff. My son, Michael, is a goalie. I waited til the end of the second camp the following week before I asked him to compare the two Camps he attended. Here is his feedback. The team of guys were great with the kids. They pushed the kids hard and yet not beyond the limits. The dryland training was excellent. Michael said he had no idea he could run that far. He also enjoyed the skills testing. It gave him a good gauge of how he was improving over the week. The coaches also gave advice reference nutrition and offseason training. I have already been informed that when Planet Hockey comes back, he will return. Thank You and the team of coaches. They were great and made a good impression on my son.
